EPTB Seine Grands Lacs The Challenge

To better protect the Île-de-France region from overflowing Seine River floods, the Public Territorial Basin Authority (EPTB) Seine Grands Lacs launched a development project upstream of the Paris area, aiming to retain floodwaters while enhancing a unique ecosystem.

The pilot site in La Bassée is the first of its kind, and its construction requires real-time traffic monitoring, with a focus on truck flow discrimination.

The primary goals are to assess the impact of truck traffic, detect anomalies, and uphold the standards of an “exemplary construction site.”

Insights from the monitoring phase will inform ecological restoration efforts within and around the pilot site.

Key solution requirements include:

Continuous monitoring of road traffic to build a full transport flow history by the end of the construction period (truck counts, route compliance, adherence to time restrictions, etc.)

Ability to provide a historical view of transport flows within 24 hours upon request

On-demand traffic checks for the project owner or construction manager

Duration of the system: 2 years
